MZDev Inc. is happy to report a wide range of new features in the latest release of OSCAR, v3.4.528. Let us know if you’d like to know more about using any of the latest features.
New Features:
- Custom Scoring:
- Live observation scoring now supports any number of audio files to be uploaded to forms and files to be divided by form section.
- Live observation sites can now be configured to a customized number of candidates.
- Quality Control (QC) Updates:
- OSCAR now supports advanced qualification rules. This allows users to configure complex rules that will apply over multiple qualification sets. Go to Item Setup>Quality Settings and turn on Qualification to see the new options.
- These new rules work off a system of “must see” and “must pass” where you define how many qualification sets users have to complete and pass to qualify.
- Additionally, set rules that go beyond the individual pass threshold for a set can be enabled like a maximum number of discrepant scores, trait level accuracy, and accuracy calculated over all the sets the users see.
- To view performance on qualification that takes into account the new rules, there is a new a page in OSCAR for users called User Portfolio under the QC tab. The portfolio can actually show user performance on any QC type for specific items or all items or all sections and items. This new page is available to any users with access to QC Reporting (check role permissions).
- OSCAR now supports advanced qualification rules. This allows users to configure complex rules that will apply over multiple qualification sets. Go to Item Setup>Quality Settings and turn on Qualification to see the new options.
- Scoring rules:
- For items that contain a zero score point, items can now be configured to resolve all responses that receive a zero and a different score from two raters, regardless of the scoring type of the item. This feature can be enabled through Item Setup>Scoring Setup by using the checkbox under the Item Type.
- API Support:
- We’ve made updates in the background that allow us to more quickly and easily support changes you’d like to make to importing responses to OSCAR. Contact a representative to know more.
- Responses of all file types that are supported by OSCAR can now be imported as base64 encoded string. Previously, this feature was only available for .pdf responses.
- There is now an API Logs tab that allows you to view exports through the Loopback page. Configure your item to export to Loopback through Item Setup>Integrations>Score API by using the Loopback toggle. After exporting responses from that item, you will be able to view the entire JSON structure of the response on the Loopback page. Make this page available for users by turning it on under Role Config.
- Security Updates:
- Invalid logins (incorrect username or password) will have a fixed number of possible attempts, after which accounts will be locked. Valid users will receive warnings and may reset their access by requesting a new password.
- To prevent possible hacking attacks, users will now be limited to five username changes per day.
- Through a number of updates, OSCAR has now limited our exposure to many known vulnerabilities.
- OSCAR will store previously used passwords, so old passwords cannot be used again to access accounts.
- EMMA integration:
- For users that take advantage of MZDev’s advanced AI scoring tool, EMMA, there a few new upgrades that can be enabled.
- Under Item Setup>Integrations>EMMA, users can have EMMA check for blank responses and withhold these from scoring. Choose the flag type you wish blank responses to be withheld under and these responses will stay out of the scoring queue.
- Also under the EMMA integration tab, you can now specify which type of scoring you’d like EMMA to apply, first, second, or resolution scoring. Note, EMMA is quite fast, so make sure you have chosen the right setting before you save your choice.
- For users that take advantage of MZDev’s advanced AI scoring tool, EMMA, there a few new upgrades that can be enabled.
Happy Scoring from the MZDev team!
